What separates Bumble from other apps is the unique option it gives users when setting up their profiles. They get to decide if they want to use the app for dating or specifically for Bumble BFF. The BFF option is strictly for making friends, whether you’re out traveling or wants some new besties to add to your circle in your hometown.

As of right now, The Hive is a temporary meet up spot expected to last just one month and during that time all proceeds will go to charity.

Whitney Wolfe, founder and CEO of Bumble, is the mastermind behind The Hive. She initially created this app as a way for women to have the opportunity to choose who they want to date. The way Bumble is set up, women are the ones who get to hit like, only after that they will show up in the men’s feed. This is what sets it apart from many other dating apps.
