The title of Ambassador commands much respect in the halls of government. That is because the Ambassador is the highest ranking official another country can talk to outside of the Head of State. When an Ambassador speaks, it is as though the Head of State is speaking himself.
For Israel’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Daniel Taub, the title of Ambassador was a lifetime in the making. Born in the United Kingdom in 1962, Ambassador Taub never strayed far from his Jewish roots.

In his final interview as Ambassador, Daniel Taub talked about his accomplishments during his four years of service. One of the Ambassador’s proudest feats was strengthening the relationship between the State of Israel and the United Kingdom.
During his term, trade between the two countries increased by $3 billion dollars. And trade is often considered one of the most critical barometers when it comes to a country’s relationship with another state.
During the interview, Ambassador Taub also talked about the complicated situation in the Middle East. In particular, the Ambassador discussed the prospects of a nuclear-armed Iran. Ambassador Taub insisted that Iran should not have nuclear weapon’s capability and that the State of Isreal would do what it can do to protect itself.
While Ambassador Taub did take a hard stand on Iran, he was open to working with other Middle Eastern countries. The Ambassador also talked about how the United Kingdom was critical in helping to foster negotiations between the countries.
Daniel Taub was educated in the United Kingdom during his secondary and college education and then attended Harvard University in the United States. After graduating from Harvard University, Daniel Taub served in the Isreali Defense Force (IDF) and later in the IDF reserves as an International Law Officer. Daniel Taub began his political career at the Israeli Foreign Ministry. During his time in the Ministry, Mr. Taub worked in Middle East negotiations. In 2011, Mr. Taub would be named Israel’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom.
