Technology is also an integral part of Sweetgreen’s success. It may not seem like, but companies haven’t been embracing technology for that long. It wasn’t until the boom of smartphones that companies show potential in using technology as an additional revenue source.

For Sweetgreen, technology was a big part of the foundation; it’s a part of their DNA. The co-CEOs are considered tech pioneers for their innovative use of technology. Sweetgreen was one of the first restaurant chains to use a website and mobile app to allow customers to order food before getting to the store.

As young entrepreneurs, the trio of CEOs learned everything the hard way. The most important lesson they learned: build a team before things get too hectic. Sadly, it’s a mistake that too many entrepreneurs make, which doesn’t always come with a second chance. Sweetgreen’s co-CEOs got lucky and asked for help when they really needed it.
